I love decorating my home with minimalist labels to create a more organised and visually appealing living space.
Labelling your pantry and storage spaces not only helps bring order to your home, it also makes it easier to locate items quickly, and I find contributes to an overall sense of calm and control as it looks neat and tidy!

Here's what you'll need;
Sticker Paper - preferably something waterproof and heavy duty. I use the Heavy Duty White Polyester from Avery.
Scissors / Slicer or you can use a vinyl cutting machine like the Cricut (Which I personally use to do all my sticker cutting or vinyl labels! Its great for so many craft projects,) but scissors will also work just fine!
Label Design whether your own or using a Template or Pre Made Labels - get creative here to create the look you're after. I have created designs which you can purchase and edit, however if you have a specific design in mind you can create via word / pages or canva. The ones I have created are in Canva, which is a platform that is free to join and is super easy to use to make all kinds of home projects.
Software like Microsoft Word, Pages or Canva to design and download your designs. I personally recommend using Canva.
The Steps
1.Designing
The fun part! Designing and creating your labels for your pantry, syrups, herbs and spices.
You can make your designs using Microsoft word or pages, by creating a text box and writing in the items. (Looking on Pintrest and Etsy is a great way to get inspiration!)
For my Syrup jars I have created a template for you on Canva which allows you to write the syrup name and give a flavour description. I also have 15 pre made ones in the below flavours. This is a great option if you don't want to spend the time creating anymore and find the below syrups are ones you use!
Vanilla
Coffee
Maple Spice
White Chocolate
Chocolate
Pumpkin Spice
Peppermint
Gingerbread
Salted Caramel
Irish Cream
Toffee Nut
Coconut
Almond
Cinnamon
Hazelnut
Tip; You could use this template and customise to make something else besides syrups!
For my Pantry Items, Herbs and Spices, you can create via word in the same format, or use my pantry label template which has a more simple layout, than the syrup design to keep a minimalist look in your pantry.
I have included a range of sizes, and if you edit via Canva you can change the font, the words even the background to make black or pink labels!
What I love about making your own and using a program like Canva is that you can easily go back and add more labels and replace if any get damaged.
Amazon has some great label kits with jars, but if you have more ingredients then they supply, it can be hard to recreate the same, and you might then have a mismatch of labels. But still can be a great and quick option.
Step Two; Print and Cut
Cut by Hand
If you're choosing to hand cut your labels, pending your paper size, I'd recommend fitting as many labels onto the one page piror to printing, to reduce paper waste.
To do this, you'll take your PNG files from Canva or my pre-made syrup ones, and drag them into word and pages and fit at least a couple on there. (If you have designed them into word or pages, you wont need to do this!)
Once printed, cut with scissors, or use a slicer to get a neater cut.
Cut by Machine
If you're choosing to use your Cricut Vinyl machine. Upload the PNGs from Canva into Cricut Design Space. Then fit as many as you can of your labels into the print n cut dimensions. From there Cricut will send to your printer and will cut for you, as shown below!
Tip; If you have created your labels via word or pages, you'll need to save as a PNG file with a transparent background before uploading into Cricut.
Step Three; Add your Stickers
Once you have all your labels cut, you can then go ahead an place them onto your containers and jars.
Make sure they are clean, using an alcohol wipe is a great way to remove any dust to reduce bumps. Ensure to slowly place and press hard to push out any air.
To maintain longevity stick to hand washing the jars and containers with these labels.
And you're done! I'd love to see how your pantry labels turn out, tag me on instagram @thehomelyavenue
